A children's author's website and bookshop, moved from Squarespace to a custom Shopify theme that sells signed copies directly.

The brief
Matt Davies writes rhyming picture books for two to six year olds and posts out signed copies himself. His Squarespace site cost more each month than it needed to, and he wanted to sell through Facebook and Instagram as well as his own site.
What we built
- A storybook-styled custom Shopify theme with 16 custom page sections
- Book cards with quick add-to-basket and a slide-in basket
- Signed and unsigned copies, and bundles
- 21 free activity sheets and resources to download
- A "story club" mailing list signup
- A gallery, reviews and a blog
- The old Squarespace content moved across by script, with every old address redirected
- A six-week marketing kit: posting plan, blog posts, emails, school outreach and 16 branded graphics
How it turned out
The new shop went live in June 2026 and the domain switched over the next day, with the redirects checked. Monthly running costs dropped to a fraction of the Squarespace plan, which was then cancelled.
