Apps for phones and tablets that keep working offline
If your team fills things in on site, in a field or on the road, we build the app they do it in. It installs from a link and carries on working when the signal drops.
What we build
Most small businesses we meet are running an important job on paper forms, a spreadsheet and a group chat. We turn that job into an app built for the people doing it, on the phone or tablet they already carry.
- Records and reports filled in on the spot, with photos, drawings and signatures, then sent as a tidy PDF.
- Invoices and statements produced from the same records, so nothing is typed twice.
- Maps and site guides that work in places with no signal at all.
- Catalogues and logs for collections, equipment or stock, with reminders when something is due.
Offline first
Our apps keep their data on the device and save as you go, so they work in a barn, a basement or the middle of a game reserve. Where an app needs to share data between people, it catches up when the connection comes back.
Most of them install straight from a web link onto the home screen of an iPhone, iPad or Android phone, with no App Store needed. Where a full App Store app is the better fit, we build that too: TeamMate's iOS app is one.
Examples from our work
- Solio Reserve Companion: a game reserve's hand-drawn map with a GPS dot that lands in the right place, fully offline.
- Practice app for an equine physiotherapist: treatment reports, consent forms and two-currency invoicing on one iPad.
- Catalogue app for a motorbike collection: around 300 bikes with photos, service history and renewal reminders on one phone.
- TeamMate: a coach-led training app on the web and iOS.
How a project runs
We start by watching how the job is done today, put a small working version on your own phone early, then build the rest in stages you can see. How a project runs explains each step. If the app needs accounts, roles and shared data for a whole team, see business systems.
Questions people ask
Yes. Apps that install from a web link run on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and computers, from one build.
We plan for that from the start. Apps that keep data on the device back it up, for example as a daily file or to a server you choose, so a lost phone does not mean lost records.
Yes. We look after what we build, fix what comes up after launch and add what real use shows is missing.
